Always give a page for external links, where you refer for your contents. It’s a help you are doing to the referring site as gratitude. Also you are indirectly promoting your own site. Always the familiar site gets noticed by the search engines they keep track on the back links. By doing this you are becoming a part of that famous site and you too start to grow along with them. But be caution, dead links should be removed immediately and you have to keep track on this. There are tools to trace these dead links, there is no need for doing this manually.
